A User's Guide To The Declaration
of Independence
- This outstanding site, developed by the Claremont
Institute, contains a wealth of information concerning the Declaration. The
site contains a general guide to the fundamental ideas of the document, a
timeline of the creation and signing of the Declaration, biographies of many
of the people involved in its development, and an excellent transcription
and explanation of the text itself, which is a useful tool for Lesson 6. The
site also has information on current issues related to equality and freedom,
including a few "hot topics" to stimulate discussion.
