 White Cover:  Chapter 24 (pages 776-797) from the Beginning through the KKK.

Brown Cover:  Chapter 24 (pages 784-807) from the Beginning through the KKK

QUESTIONS

1.  Discuss the various reasons for The Roaring Economy of the 1920’s.  (Do not address Henry Ford and the Automobile as you will discuss this topic in Section B).

2.  Discuss America’s emerging Mass Society—be sure to include age, gender and race.

3.  Not all Americans embraced the emergence of modern society—provide an overview of the arguments and actions of groups concerned with  immigration, prohibition and fundamentalism.

G.  Music

The changes in American Culture were also apparent in the different emerging sounds.  Listen to three songs including Ain’t We Got Fun (because it is mentioned in the textbook),  Crazy Words, Crazy Tune (Vo-do-de-o) And Puttin’ on the Ritz 

  --List the song and discuss the music/lyrics and how each reflects the time period.
