The
National Assessment of Educational Progress also
known as "the Nation's Report Card", provides a series
of measurable skills in various subject areas.
This is similar to the Learning Standards developed by
the New York State Department of Education.
Each NAEP assessment is
built around an organizing framework, which is the
blueprint that guides the development of the assessment
instrument and determines the content to be assessed.
Frameworks capture a range of subject-specific content
and thinking skills needed by students in order to deal
with the complex issues they encounter inside and
outside their classrooms.
The following links connect to
sites that define the content and skills determined
necessary for each curriculum area and the framework on
which they were based (if available).
